What's Included
Floor Plan
The floor plan page features dimensioned layout of walls, rooms, door, and windows. This page provides an overhead view of your house plan.
Roof Plan
The roof plan page illustrates the roof elements, including ridges, valleys, and hips. It also indicates the general roofing material and the slopes of the roof surfaces.
Exterior Elevations
The exterior elevations drawings are a 2 dimensional representation of each side of the house. The elevations will also typically indicate the materials for the walls and other elements of the home.
Sections
This is a cut-away view through the house that shows the relationship between the ground, the house, the ceiling, and the roof.
Electrical Plan
The electrical plan page indicates the general location of lighting fixtures and wall outlets throughout the house. Your builder or electrician will create a more in-depth electrical plan.
What's Not Included
  • Architectural or Engineering Stamp (a local professional can assist you).
  • Mechanical Drawings such as HVAC locations and routing (your sub-contractor can assist you).
  • Plumbing Drawings that show actual pipe sizes and locations (your sub-contractor can assist you).
  • Energy Calculations including REScheck (local contractor can assist you).
  • Building Codes
Because of the wide range of plan requirements in different states and municipalities, it is possible that the plans may not show all of the information required by your local plan reviewer. Some local codes may also require energy efficiency details (REScheck). In these instances, we recommend hiring a local design professional or engineer who can assist in bringing the plans up to your local building code.
    Engineering
Some states or municipalities may require that a licensed architect or engineer review and stamp the plans. If this is the case where you will be building, a local licensed architect or engineer professional will be able to assist you.
    Plan Files and Copies
Digital files will be sent to you via email or via a download link. The PDF files can be sent to your local printer or Office Depot to have the plans printed on full size paper to get "sets" for bidding or permitting. If you prefer printed copies, we can print them for you and mail them to you for an additional fee. The CAD (Computer Aided Design) files are made available to you in case you are in need of engineering or other local services that require the CAD files. Note that we design in Revit (3D) and only make the CAD (2D) files available for engineering purposes. The Revit files are not included with purchase.
